Covering you ass!

Warning this picture has nothing to do with this article, yet enjoy it!

In the 1980's BMX had plenty of personal flair. As noted in previous blog,  it was all about your personal touch to your bike. Not only was it about the bike but it was  all about the swag as well. Nothing has changed from the 80's whatsoever as far as having the "look". Every rider wants to look as crisp and flashy as the the next rider. With so many offerings today, the clothing lines help make it a simple thing to do.. Everyone has a creative look they want to accomplish and separate themselves from the next rider. There a countless companies out there today in which one can get any design that he/she can think of on their Jersey!

I mentioned from the 1980's up until year 2017 nothing has changed in creativity. What has changed is your ability to create and design your own racing pants for BMX.....ahhh yes the Covering your ass subject now comes into play. Outside of the big bike manufacturing teams wearing customized pants, its no longer an option to find pants designers for BMX (yep having your ass covered).

In the 80's most every team had customization going on, including having anything you wanted inputted onto your riding leathers ( see kick ass pictures) . It was a very possible and easy process to get in touch with seamstresses back then. Yep and there was not internet and Bernie Sanders supporters back then either.

Today customization is a backwards process! Why?  Since you can not find riding pants designers,  you need to backdoor into it. The process today is for one to buy your leathers from such companies as Fly, Fox, Faith etc, etc  Once you have your pants picked out,  its common to send them to your shirt design company to have sublimated to match your pants.  When I mentioned the pant/leather seller,  I left out the fact that they are broadcasting there logos on the pants.   Most riders are left with having to design around those bulky logos and have no choice but to pull the pants logo's into their Jersey designs. I have had no issues purchasing ones pants but not a fan of them plastering their logo onto my customized Jersey.

Lets fast forward, I'm in Las Vegas at MGM and run across some cool looking dudes that are in town for a Supercross event. I am heading out and about to play Kiss Mini-golf when run into Michael Leib. Small world for sure as the conversation at hand turns to BMX racing and Motocross.  Mike as it turns out is a Pro Motocross rider whom oh by the way is partners in OK great but what does Kiss mini golf and Supeercross have to do with racing pants...? OK besides me being a Kiss fan that is an awesome question!!

One of my biggest issues with BMX racing pants has been the lack of existence of an ALL Black and an ALL White racing pant (see below). Oh boy I know what your thinking... here goes the Black / White issue...Damn straight you finally guessed one right!!  I challenge you to find me someone whom sells a completely blank W/B racing pants with no logos!  Sure you may point me to an all black pant, But I promise you it has some big red, blue or white logo on it!!!

Canvas MX offers YES an all solid racing pants. I have been personally searching for this the last 8 yrs while into BMX.  Canvas allows me and you to quit broadcasting someone else brand. That's great news as we can finally run our very own brands and look fleek doing so!!

Canvas does not broadcast there logo on their products. It does not stop here with Canvas-MX. You can add any design, logo or what ever the heck you can dream up onto there custom pants offerings, gear bags, jackets, jersey's and Polo shirts. Its one bad-ass and interactive site. Come checkout team Brand X  at a National near you and will be glad to show you CanvasMX gear!

Go to the link below and tell them Brand X sent ya!! Have fun and let your imagination run wild. Create you own identity today!
